An artist known for her abstract and geometric work and a pioneer in the use of computers in artistic creation, Vera Molnár explores simple, minimalist forms in her work. She plays with seriality and repetition, notably using computer programming to experiment and inject an element of controlled chance into her creations. This work from the RAJA Collection is a collage, a technique the artist has practiced since the 1950s. It allows her to cut out and arrange her shapes, often using packaging materials and scraps of paper collected in her daily life. Here, a line of kraft paper unfolds, rising, falling, and twisting in places. Both continuous and broken, the work echoes a statement by the artist: not a day goes by without a line!
