SUPPORT FOR ARTISTIC PRODUCTION – TAMAYA SAPEY-TRIOMPHE – GRAND PALAIS

The RAJA Collection is delighted to support the production of Gros Palais, a collaborative work by Tamaya Sapey-Triomphe and five students studying for a certificate in woodworking at the Bartholdi professional high school in Saint-Denis.
As part of the pArtcours jeunes Grand Palais program, the artist and apprentices are invited to spend several weeks creating a work that resonates with the exhibitions “Grottesco” by Eva Jospin and “D’un seul souffle” by Claire Tabouret. The Collection contributed to the production of this work-construction by providing cardboard boxes and cardboard sheets, which are used to erect this Gros Palais in the Salon Seine of the Grand Palais.
“Inspired by the architectural challenge taken up in 1900 for the construction of the Grand Palais, as well as by the life’s work of Facteur Cheval, the Gros Palais is a reflection and creation around the ”Palais Idéal” (Ideal Palace), in the architectural, temporal, and philosophical sense. Made of cardboard and stained glass, the Gros Palais, by Tamaya Sapey-Triomphe and the five apprentice cabinetmakers who have been involved in the project for several weeks, is being installed in the Salon Seine of the Grand Palais to echo the poetic and philosophical questions raised by our relationship to architecture, dreams, eternity, and beauty.” (label for the work in progress)
The Gros Palais will be on display from February 19 in the Salon Seine of the Grand Palais until March 29, 2026!
