LOAN – “DES TUBERCULES ET DES NUAGES” – GROUP EXHIBITION – CITÉ DES ÉLECTRICIENS
The RAJA Collection – Contemporary Art is pleased to lend three works by Suzanne Husky for the group exhibition “Des tubercules et des nuages”, which is taking place at the Cité des Électriciens from June 7 to December 7, 2025.
In this exhibition, the ceramics of the “Douceurs de fleurs” (2018) series are linked to the history of the former mining community of Bruay-la-Buissière, which was lived in until 2013. Alongside artists Carole Fromenty and Émilie Breux, Suzanne Husky’s works dialogue with the central role of miners’ wives in the mining community and their daily domestic work.
“Three women artists engage in dialogue here with this working-class memory. Émilie Breux depicts a fern from the Cité des Électriciens confronted with its own drawn image, like a play on the theme of time that withers plants and individuals. Suzanne Husky, through her ceramics Douceur de fleurs, highlights the gap between the promises promoted by manufacturers and the real impact of our cleaning products on the environment. Finally, Carole Fromenty embroiders dreamlike scenes on tea towels, subverting a symbol of household chores to suggest a different way of relating to the world, one that is closer to nature.” (exhibition text)
